Wolverhampton’s “Yuletide Spruce Up” adds a sparkle to the city centre for Christmas

Join us for a “Yuletide Spruce Up” taking place in Wolverhampton city centre on Saturday 5th December 10 till 12 noon.

We invite families and friends to join us in a community litter pick around Wolverhampton city centre. Those taking part can wear their best Christmas Jumper or Christmas outfit and be in with the chance to win Grand Theatre Panto tickets.

We have been delighted with the hundreds of volunteers that have taken part in the City Centre Spruce Up’s through the year. We welcomed volunteers, community organisations and charities, businesses and city stakeholders, all of whom enjoyed getting involved and working together to make a difference.

The litter picks are an initiative between University of Wolverhampton, Enjoy Wolverhampton Business Improvement District (BID), City of Wolverhampton Council and the Wolves Foundation. City of Wolverhampton Council supports the event by providing all the litter picking equipment and guidance.

Cherry Shine, Managing Director of Enjoy Wolverhampton BID said

"We’ve been delighted with the number of volunteers taking part in giving the city centre an extra spruce up for the festive season. We are opening the invite for families and friends looking for a great way to give back this Christmas.

Our Christmas Spruce is just one way we are all working together to enhance the city centre for everyone to enjoy”

Sara Aslett, Business Development Manager at the University of Wolverhampton said “University staff and students always look forward to taking part in the Spruce Ups. They make you feel part of the community, have such a positive impact and bring a sense of pride to the city, so come along, pick up a stick and pick.”

Sarah – Louise Evans, Wolves Foundation “It has been such a pleasure for the Foundation to be part of this excellent initiative. The pride we have in our city has been demonstrated by paving the way for a better and sustainable future”

The Wolverhampton City Centre Yuletide Spruce Up takes place on Saturday 5th December between 10am and 12 noon. Meet at St Peter’s Gardens on Lichfield Street, next to the Art Gallery. We look forward to welcoming all who wish to get involved, the more the merrier.
